Following a complete historic restoration, the West Jefferson Hotel once again opens its doors to welcome guests into a setting rich with character and stories from 1917. Many of the rooms remain true to their original dimensions from its time as a hotel for the Virginia Creeper Railroad, offering a cozy, intimate retreat that reflects the charm of a bygone era. Each space has been thoughtfully appointed with modern comforts, ensuring your stay is both delightfully quaint and wonderfully accommodating.

Step outside directly into downtown West Jefferson and breathe in the fresh, mountain air. Each of our rooms offer fine linens, reclaimed woodwork detailing, modern lighting design, and curated furnishings. Every room has its own bathroom which includes indulgent comforts like heated tile floors, electric mirrors, beautiful tile showers, and custom-blended soaps. Rooms complete with several modern essentials including a small mini-fridge, TV, and safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we park?

Free street parking is available throughout town, including spaces right up to our building. Any spots available are available to hotel guests. If parking is especially tight during special events in town, we are able to park your vehicle in a privately owned location that is only a 1 minute walk away.

Where is the hotel entrance?

The hotel entrance is on the backside of the building on the patio. Head into the center red double doors and up the stairs, where front desk is just around the corner. Additionally, we have an elevator, which is through the door in the corner of the backside of the building by the patio.

What’s the best way to get my luggage in?

For light-packing travelers, guests should be comfortable bringing in their luggage via stairs or elevator. If needed for those with a little extra, we have a small luggage cart that can be used. Additionally, it can be taken in and out of the elevator to help cart items from your vehicle.

Are your rooms pet friendly?

As much as we love our furry friends, unfortunately our rooms are not pet friendly. However, service animals are permitted with prior agreement.

Do you have any rooms with two beds?

No, all of our rooms offer a single bed only.

Do you have any restrictions on the number of nights booked?

With the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas (two-night minimum), no! In other words, we allow one-night stays.

Is breakfast included?

Yes, we offer a light breakfast included with our rooms! Morning tea and coffee service is available beginning at 7AM. Breakfast is available from 7:30AM - 10:00AM.

Are there any common areas for guests to enjoy?

Yes! We offer our Parlor Rooms: three highly-curated and comfortable lounging areas for hotel guests, complete with an antique 1843 Square Grand Piano. We also have our veranda, which features locally-made rocking chairs and is complete with pristine views of Paddy Mountain.

Do you have any extra items available for guests?

Yes, we have many items on request-only, including but not limited to bath robes & spa slippers, ice buckets & wine glasses, disposable toiletry products, irons/steamers, extra blankets, and more. Chat with front desk about what we can assist you with during your stay!
